The Ology!

Ok, long story short: it's been a crazy couple of months around here!

We had a fantastic summer season with Kids Kamp, Youth camping trips, a mission trip, tons of other fun events, and then the annual "get-back-into-gear-for-the-fall" insanity.  God has blessed us with some new options on our Sunday routines (more about that later) and we are pumped to be starting into our third year of the Gospel Project for Kids. If you haven't checked out this curriculum, DO IT! I've mentioned it before, you can see my thoughts about it over here.

However, today I wanted to take a moment and talk about one of my FAVOURITE authors for kids. Marty Machowski has made it his mission to provide meaningful, gospel-centred material to help children understand the central theme of the Bible: God's redemptive work. He's put out a Gospel Story Bible, family devotions, a specific 4-week Christmas curriculum and much, much more. If you stick around this site, you're going to hear this name a lot. Marty has become one of my heroes when looking for material that I can depend on for our kids.

One of my most prized treasures on my Children's Director Bookshelf is 'The Ology: Ancient Truths Ever New' by Machwoski – one of the most beautiful works of literature I've stumbled across. It's a beautiful hardcover book with exquisite artwork that deals clearly and succinctly with basic truths that make up our theology. This makes a great coffee table book, a bedtime story book, or it can easily be used as the foundation for teaching in a Sunday School class. There are no limits to where and how you can use this book.

I've had a lot of grandparents in particular see this book (because I ALWAYS bring it out when Grandparents are visiting) and immediately run out to purchase it for their grandkids. What better gift can you give?

This book truly is a treasure. There's also the added bonus of picking up the CD from Sovereign Grace Kids that complements perfectly! Keep your theology handy in book and song form with these amazing resources.
